Recovery Resources

What happens after the OR determines the outcome as much as what happens in it. Dr. Siddiqi prepares patients for both.

Why recovery has variables, and why they're controllable.

Most post-operative care instructions tell a patient what to avoid. Rest. Don’t lift. Keep the incision dry. What they rarely address is what a patient can actively do to influence how the recovery goes — the variables that are within reach and worth addressing.

Swelling is one. It’s predictable after joint replacement, and it responds to compression and specific nutritional support if those interventions start early. Muscle loss is another — it begins before the surgery and accelerates in the first days after it, but it’s modifiable with the right amino acid support. Cold therapy reduces the inflammatory response in the critical early window. Each of these variables has a clinical lever. The resources on this page are those levers.

Dr. Siddiqi recommends them because they address specific, evidence-supported recovery variables — not because they round out a product page. Patients who use them consistently recover differently. That observation is what put them on the list.

Recovery starts in the 90 days before surgery and continues through the months after it. The tools on this page address the specific biological variables that determine how well and how quickly that recovery happens. Every item here has been personally evaluated by Dr. Siddiqi. None of it is here because a manufacturer asked for it to be.

Not every item on this page is relevant to every patient at every stage. Dr. Siddiqi discusses which resources are appropriate for each patient’s specific recovery during the pre-operative consultation. Some items are started before surgery. Others are introduced during the recovery window. The timing matters as much as the choice.

To order or arrange rental for any item on this page, contact the office directly. Questions about which items apply to a specific recovery plan are best addressed at the consultation.
